Have a Cracking Christmas at glór

glór has assembled a stellar line up of performances to suit all tastes this winter, with the very best local, national and international acts to entertain Co. Clare.

Music greats include the likes of Sean Keane in his festive Christmas by the Hearth show and A Night with the Stars Christmas Special with five of Ireland’s top country singers in one super show each showcasing toe tapping classics with a festive sprinkle.

With its fairy tale magic, Tchaikovsky’s beloved and sumptuous score, beautiful costumes, and a tale of wondrous adventure, Ballet Ireland’s The Nutcracker combines to form one of the most delectable Christmas confections imaginable and glór has two nights of this seasonal family favourite on December 11th – 12th.

More festive favourites with violin sensation Vladimir Jablokov, joined by special guest soprano and tenor Sean Costello, as well as many members of the multi-talented Jablokov family, as he brings a seasonal glow to some of the most beautiful classical melodies from the Romantic era in A Viennese Christmas: 10th Anniversary Special on December 14th. With music from the Strauss Family and Christmas songs and carols you know and love, this is the perfect start to the season.

In the new-year, glór has the usual stalwarts like Tommy Fleming, The Kilfenora Céilí Band, the annual showbands show, Reeling in the Showband Years, The Fureys, Sharon Shannon and Derek Ryan – all gigs that would make a perfect present for music lovers.

If it’s a good old belly laugh you’re after, then Neil Delamere, Des Bishop and Keith Barry return in the New Year to cheer everyone up.

Hot off the press are two events which had sell-out runs in the Galway International Arts Festival – Irish National Opera and United Fall presenting the utterly captivating Orfeo ed Euridice in February and Druid Theatre bringing a great cast on the road in April with their hilarious and thought-provoking Furniture by Sonya Kelly.
