Something spooktacular is taking place on Saturday 29th October in glór gallery. Join Ireland’s musical storyteller, Aindrias de Staic for a Samhain storytelling session surrounded by the work of Ireland’s finest Children’s book illustrators featured in the Slí Abhaile/A Way Home exhibition currently running in the gallery.
Aindrias will entertain kids with stories inspired by Ireland’s rich folklore and by the traditions and beliefs associated with Samhain, with a bit of music and craic thrown in for good measure.
Aindrias de Staic is an Irish fiddle player and one of a new generation of Irish storytellers. He performs in both Irish language and in English. Well known for his vibrant style of fiddle performance and charismatic stage presence, Aindrias de Staic has enjoyed roles on London’s West End and is also a well-known Irish language TV presenter (Tg4) & award-winning storyteller.
“The performance is half seanchaí, half shaman, half ‘Fiddler of Dooney…with a whallop of Flann O’Brien thrown into the mix for good measure” State.ie
