With objects chosen by the audience, Eleanor explores the multifaceted story of a peripheral community with a secret at its heart. Set in the 1920’s and inspired by true events.
Raising the Wind was created in the Scottish Highlands based on themes of migration, Calvinism and the pervading influence of the North Sea.

Eleanor Feely trained as an actor at the Stanislavski Studio in the Focus Theatre, Dublin and at the Abbey Theatre. She has worked in all the Dublin theatres and has also created work in the community including Mountjoy Prison. Her television and film work includes ‘Eden’ (BBC), ‘Remington Steel’ (CBS) ‘Rawhead Rex’ (Working Title Films), ‘Glenroe’ (RTE), ‘Fair City’ (RTE) and ‘Nighthawks’ (RTE). Her youth theatre trilogy ‘ Blue is the Colour of Rain / Roses in Winter / Jump’ won the Gulbenkian Foundation Gold Award and National Youth Innovation Award in 1997.
She has spent most of the last five years abroad touring with ‘The Changing Moon’, her own one woman show and working with her ‘heroes’ Mike Alfreds (Method & Madness Theatre Co.), Simon McBurney (Theatre de Complicité) in London and the world renowned Ariane Mnoushkine and the Theatre du Soleil in Paris.
Her most recent work was in the Scottish Highlands where she created the ‘Raising the Wind’ project on the theme of migration, Calvinism and the pervading influence of the North Sea. Back in Clare, she is delighted to be, in the words of T.S. Eliot, ‘in the place I started and know it for the first time.’
