glór Young Curators’ Programme: Songwriter Sessions Showcase: An evening of live music performed by participants of glór’s songwriting workshops.
Featuring Amy McNamara, Chris Ward, Fiona O’Connell, Alex Harvey and Conláed Ó Cearbhailláin
Over the course of September-October, glór offered a handful of young songwriters an opportunity to hone and develop their craft with Susan O’ Neill, Síomha, and Emma Langford. Over the course of three sessions, the songwriters engaged in discussions about their process, shared some of their own material, and were given an opportunity to pick the brains of some of Ireland’s finest working songwriters. On Thursday 3rd November, the five participating songwriters will take to the glór stage to showcase their original material for a live audience.
This event, as well as the associated songwriting workshops, was devised by glór’s young curators, Mary Nagle and Fiona O’ Connell.
Early in 2022, glór, as part of the NASC venue network initiative announced the appointment of two Young Curators, Mary Nagle from Corofin, Co. Clare and Fiona O’Connell from Cratloe, Co. Clare. These Young Curators were tasked with developing a programme of work by young people for young people to be presented at glór from September to November 2022.
