Find the magic of Halloween at the Samhain exhibition in glór, Slí Abhaile/A Way Home. Combining imaginative illustrations and ancient folklore with a modern-day fairy tale – this is an experience for all the family.
Originally commissioned by Siamsa Tíre, Tralee as part of its Associate Artists’ Scheme, glór is delighted to present Slí Abhaile/A Way Home, an art exhibition for children, showcases contemporary Irish illustration whilst retelling the story of Samhain (Hallowe’en) for a new generation.
In 2020, Siamsa commissioned children’s author Olivia Hope to research Celtic folklore and to develop a new story inspired by the traditions and beliefs associated with Samhain. Olivia’s story, Slí Abhaile/A Way Home, became the basis for a major art exhibition for children when, collaborating with 20 illustrators and artists, the scenes from Slí Abhaile/A Way Home were brought to life.
A Samhain Storytelling Session with Aindrias de Staic will take place in the gallery on Saturday 29th October 10.30am €5 per child, Adults free of charge Suitable for Ages 6+ │ Duration 45 mins approx. Children must be accompanied. Limited Capacity
