Barnstorm’s Alice and The Wolf is a beguiling new production for audiences (9+ years), directed by Philip Hardy
Alice spends virtually all her time in Wolf Wood. You know, the world’s deepest, darkest online game. Why not? Her dad isn’t around, her mother’s gone to Canada to meet a lumberjack and her best friend’s dumped her for a YouTube star.
But what happens when the people you meet online come looking for you in real life? Who can you trust, and who is the Big Bad Wolf? This re-telling of the Little Red Riding Hood story is a digital fairy tale that’s deliciously funny and full of dangerously dark twists.
This modern twist on an old tale was clever, child-friendly and a very effective vehicle for communicating its central theme about the danger of connecting with strangers online.’ Ann Murtagh, Kilkenny Education Centre
Founded in Kilkenny in 1991, Barnstorm Theatre Company creates and presents quality theatre for, and with children, young people and adults. We engage the transformative potential of theatre for the benefit of our audiences and communities.
In its 25 years of working from its Kilkenny base, Barnstorm has pioneered work for children and young people, for communities and for adults through its various strands of work. It has achieved this through dedication and the support of others; in collaborations and partnerships; in pushing boundaries, challenging the work and offering opportunities to others to develop their practice.
