Ennis Players host the All-Ireland One Act Drama Finals under the auspices of the Drama League of Ireland & the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland.
The All-Ireland One-Act drama circuit takes place from the end of October to the end of November each year. Groups compete at qualifying festivals across the country to earn points for qualification to the finals. This year’s finals take place in glór where only the top eleven groups in the country have the honour of performing. Ennis Players previously hosted the finals in 2003 & 2011 to great critical acclaim.
The All-Ireland Finals festival is an opportunity to experience the very best of amateur theatre in a celebratory, festival atmosphere. The line-up for the weekend will be available just days before the festival, but it is guaranteed to be a great weekend of quality theatre. Numerous fringe events are also planned to add to the festive atmosphere.
Three productions will be staged on Friday night at 8pm, Saturday night at 7pm & Sunday afternoon at 1.30pm, with the remaining two productions on Sunday night at 8pm.
Sunday night’s performances will be followed by the Grand Finale & announcement of results. After the performances each night, adjudicator Geoff O’Keeffe will share his public critique of the productions with the audience.
