glór once again collaborates with the RHA to present a major group exhibition of work from the RHA council. Abigail O’Brien, the first female president of the RHA in its 200-year history has selected an extraordinary line-up of artists from the council, including some of the most important and diverse names in 21st Century Irish Art. Artists whose work will be on show in this landmark exhibition include Una Sealy; James English; Vivienne Roche; James Hanley; Eithne Jordan; Colin Martin, Pat Harris, Alice Maher; Dorothy Smith; Mick O’Dea and of course work by Abigail O’Brien herself.
With a diverse mix of work including landscape, photography, drawing sculpture and still life, Abigail O’Brien Selects… promises to be a unique and exciting exhibition of Irish Art, reflecting the vitality of contemporary art in Ireland.
The Selects…series has been curated by Lorraine Wall in 2004, John Shinnors in 2005, Walter Verling in 2006, Seán McSweeney in 2008 and, following a hiatus, Mick O’Dea in 2018 and has brought some iconic work to glór’s walls over the years.
glór gallery is open 10am – 3pm Monday – Friday and from 10am – 5pm on Saturdays.
