We are delighted to share glór’s re-opening details with you. Our gallery will be opening Thursday 8th July at 2pm and we have an exciting new exhibition, Sinterella on display. Our walk-in box office will be open once again from the 9th July.
Our newest exhibition, and the first curated by glór’s curator-in-residence, Moran Been-noon, Sinterella: An Exploration of Visual Material-Based Art Storytelling. Sinterella is a group exhibition, from artists Martha Cashman, Annita McKee and Insaf Yalcinkaya, exploring the idea of telling stories through material. Each artist chooses her material as a method to express a narrative. We are delighted to be able to present this exhibition featuring three exciting female artists.
glór also has an stunning new mural to show off as well. The Studio from Mark Cronin, gives us a glimpse inside a whimsical artist studio where paint, cats and paper cranes collide.
Theatre is coming back to glór this July (well, glór’s carpark) with a fabulous outdoor production from the Gate Theatre and the amazing Mikel Murfi, who previously has charmed us with The Man in the Woman’s Shoes last October. In MiddleTown features Murfi playing a furniture removals man, in the middle of his life, living in the middle of a small town. One day, instead of helping a neighbour move, he drives to his own house, packs up his ‘life’ onto the back of his truck, pulls the door behind him and never goes back. Tickets are limited so early booking is advice. Book here.
Shows are also starting to fill up our Autumn schedule, which will recommence from early September. How does Hermitage Green, SÍOMHA, and Owen Colgan sound? Keep an eye on our events page and social media as we add more shows.
Here are our opening hours:
Box office: 10am – 2.30pm, Monday – Friday
Gallery: 10am – 3pm Monday -Friday, 10am -4pm Saturday
We can’t wait to welcome you back to glór this summer!
