Artists’ Guided Tours, Workshops and Demonstrations
glór is continually aiming to find more ways for audiences to engage with artists, and Artists’ talks, guided tours and workshops are a key element of our visual arts programme. Each exhibition is accompanied by an artist-led tour followed by a talk or demonstration/workshop.
Dementia Friendly Guided Gallery Tours
In 2018, glór with Clare Arts Office is delighted to introduce regular Dementia Friendly tours to accompany glór’s visual arts programme.
glór will offer guided exhibition tours specifically designed to support people living with dementia and their family, friends or professional carers, to engage with the art work on show and enjoy a social gallery experience.
Theatre Artist Eleanor Feely will facilitate the tours, comprising a brief introductory chat, and discussion of a small selection of artwork from those hanging in glór’s gallery. Eleanor will give background information about the artists and artworks and there will be plenty of time to take in the works on display at an unhurried pace. Each tour will last approximately 40 minutes and will finish with tea, coffee and biscuits in glór’s café.
If you would like to participate in one of our Dementia Friendly Tours please contact Sinéad Cahill at gallery@glor.ie
Post Show Discussions
Post show discussions with members of the company will take place after selected theatre and other shows and we encourage you to join in, ask questions and reflect on the work that you have seen.
